Kathy Leeper is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She attended the University of Pittsburgh and has two Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Administration of Justice. Kathy then continued her education at Pitt receiving a Masters in Social Work. Kathy is certified as a Forensic Counselor who has developed a highly effective anger management curriculum.
Kathy has known since she was a young child that she wanted to help people and create change in their lives. She has a strong belief in people’s need to change and grow (including her own) and continues to educate herself through professional resources and education on new ways to promote effective change.
Kathy has extensive experience working with dual disorders (mental health and substance abuse issues) and people who have been involved with the criminal justice system. She enjoys working with a diverse population, but has a passion for helping people manage anger and relationship issues. Kathy has experience working with adults, adolescents, couples and groups. She has experience leading groups to manage stress, anger, grief, and depression. Kathy has been trained in CBT, DBT, Harm-Reduction, Motivational Interviewing, trauma work, and IPSRT. In addition, Kathy has created an effective model of couples therapy.
In addition to Kathy’s passion for helping others, she finds great joy in family. Kathy loves playing with her kids and dog, and enjoys spending time with her parents, siblings, and friends.
