TRAUMA
Trauma is defined as “an emotional or psychological injury, usually resulting from an extremely stressful, life-threatening or life altering event(s).”
What we know is that no one other than you can judge your experience and define it as a trauma. People who suffer from a traumatic stress injury will often live their lives constantly avoiding the things that remind them of that trauma. The feelings, thoughts, and experience then can “flashback” when they least expect it. This can happen while awake or asleep.
The trauma treatment that we do with clients is designed to integrate the traumatic event into a narrative of strength and courage. We create a warm, safe place to work through your pain and reclaim your life.
Let us remind you of how resilient and strong you are. If you have suffered a trauma or series of traumatic events, we can help you to regain your balance.
